Digitization does not end with a new website. Individual digital solutions are often sought for different industries in order to optimise the customer experience, make internal processes more efficient or expand the lead to the competition.

EXAMPLE: WATER QUALITY

A rural community wants to use special sensors to monitor the water quality at the nearby lake and needs an online database that automatically stores the sensor data. The system should also report if there are problems with a sensor. And finally, the measurement data is to be prepared in an intelligible way on a website for the interested public.

Graffiti on a wall shows a woman letting birds fly This graffito by an unknown artist illustrates how ideas become new, “flying” solutions.

Funding for Customised Digital Solutions

Please note that the funding programmes described here only apply to the German market.

The digitalisation of companies has become a driving force for innovation and competitiveness. Governments around the world therefore offer a variety of funding programs that help companies implement digital solutions and meet the challenges of digital transformation. In Germany, too, the abundance of funding programmes is colourful, but also opaque. The individual federal states are often at the head of digital funding. We would like to introduce you to a few examples here (as of Dec. 2023):

In Bavaria, one of the leading German federal states in terms of innovation, the focus is on the “Digitalbonus Bayern” as a funding programme. This grant provides companies with financial support for the introduction of new digital technologies, the modernization of business processes and the improvement of IT security. No “normal” web presence or online shop is promoted, but only individual and integrative digital solutions. However, the above examples would certainly fall under the criteria of the digital bonus Bavaria. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can benefit from this program, for example by reducing the costs of consulting and implementation services in the field of digital transformation.

EXAMPLE BREAKFAST DELIVERY SERVICE

A farmer with 15 holiday apartments on his farm offers a bread service where guests can register and order. This action is very popular with guests, but the order still runs with pen and paper and binds valuable labor. Here a small registration form could remedy the situation. This form could be e.g. can be accessible via the website, your own app or on a tablet at the reception. However, it must be ensured that only guests are allowed to order there and that any misuse is excluded.

Such an individual digital solution, which significantly and sustainably facilitates the workflow in operation, could possibly be eligible via the “Digitalbonus Bayern.

The “go-digital” funding programme of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy is aimed specifically at SMEs. It helps companies to optimize their processes through digital technologies and drive digital transformation. With consulting services in the areas of online marketing, IT security and the introduction of digital business models, companies can benefit from this program.

The funding programme “digital JETZT of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy aimed to support companies in digitalisation, especially in times of the pandemic. It offered financial grants for investments in digital technologies and innovations as well as for qualification measures in the field of digitalisation. This approach has encouraged companies in Germany to strengthen their competitiveness by introducing digital solutions. Unfortunately, the program expired without replacement on 31 December 2016, which we think is a politically and economically problematic step at Netjutant.

Conservative and Antifragile Digitalisation

Digitization is not an end in itself. In an increasingly digitised world, it is crucial not only to respond to short-term trends, but also to pursue a long-term strategy that makes companies resilient to unforeseen events.

Conservative digitalisation is about preserving existing structures and carefully modernising them without increasing the risk of disruption or interruption. In addition, anti-fragile digitalisation is concentrated in creating systems that not only show resilience to stressors and challenges, but even benefit from them and emerge stronger.

Our expertise is to find the right balance between tradition and innovation to help companies assert themselves in a ever-changing digital landscape. We offer custom solutions tailored to the specific needs and objectives of each company.
